Privacy policy

This policy explains what ZeyoLearn collects when you use the ZeyoLearn mobile app or this website, why, who helps us process it, and how to delete it. It applies to one ZeyoLearn account used in both places.

What we collect

Your account

  • Name, username and email address.
  • Your password — stored only as a salted hash, never in readable form.
  • The choices you make when you start: the language you speak, the language you are learning, your experience level and your daily goal.
  • Optional details you add, such as a phone number, a short bio or a profile picture.
  • If you sign in with Google or Apple: the name, email address and account identifier they share with us. Apple may give us a private relay address instead of your email.

Your learning

  • The lessons you take, the answers you give, your XP, streaks, crowns, gems and achievements, and a review schedule for the words you have learned.
  • Leaderboard membership and weekly XP, friends and friend requests, and invite codes you share or use.

Your devices

  • In the mobile app: a notification token and device identifier so we can send reminders, the app version, and crash reports.
  • When you sign in: the time and IP address, kept for six months to protect your account.
  • On this website: your sign-in token is stored in your browser's local storage so you stay signed in. The website sets no advertising or analytics cookies.

Purchases

Subscriptions are bought through Google Play or the Apple App Store. We receive the receipt so we can confirm your subscription; we never see your card details.

Speaking, listening and handwriting

In the mobile app, speaking exercises use your device's speech recognition, which may be processed by your device's provider; we receive only the recognised text. Handwriting is recognised on your device. On this website, audio is played with your browser's built-in text-to-speech voices. The website never uses your microphone.

How we use it

  • To run your account and lessons, and to choose which words you review and when.
  • To keep your streak, XP and progress in step across the app and the website.
  • To send the reminders and emails you have not turned off — every email includes an unsubscribe link.
  • To show leaderboards and friends, where other learners can see your display name, profile picture and learning stats.
  • To confirm subscriptions, prevent abuse, keep your account secure and fix problems.
  • To show ads in the free version of the mobile app.

We do not sell your personal information.

Who processes it for us

We use these services to run ZeyoLearn. Each receives only what it needs for its job:

  • Railway — runs our servers (Singapore).
  • DigitalOcean — hosts our database (Singapore).
  • Cloudflare — serves this website and stores lesson media.
  • Our email provider — delivers password-reset and reminder emails.
  • Google Firebase — push notifications, app analytics, crash reports and remote app settings (mobile app).
  • Sentry — records errors so we can fix them.
  • Google AdMob — ads in the free mobile app.
  • Google and Apple — sign-in, app stores and subscription billing.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is open. When you delete your account it is switched off straight away and permanently erased after 30 days, together with the learning data linked to it. Signing back in within those 30 days restores it. Sign-in records (time and IP address) are kept for six months. Password-reset links expire after 24 hours and are removed after a week; in-app notifications are removed after 90 days.

Your choices

  • Change your name, bio and daily goal in your profile.
  • Turn reminder emails off in Settings, or use the unsubscribe link in any email.
  • Delete your account at any time — see how to delete your account.
  • Ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct it, by emailing us.

Security

All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS. Passwords are hashed, sign-in tokens are short-lived, and access to our systems is restricted.

Children

ZeyoLearn is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update this page and its date, and tell you in the app for significant changes.
